An experimental incentive scheme

The PLI Scheme, for Vakh.

Help Vakh grow, earn points, share a monthly pool.

Every month we set aside part of our marketing budget as a pool. You earn points when people join Vakh through your links, when you post regularly, and when people respond to what you post. Your share of the points is your share of the pool.

PLI, in Vakh

Three ways to earn points. One pool to share.

Bring people to Vakh, post regularly, and get genuine response from others. Each of these earns points, and at the end of the month the points decide how the pool is shared. We are looking for genuine participation, not just signups or repeated actions.

How you earn points

Three kinds of activity earn points.

01

People join through your links

Your profile, your forms, your posts, and your badges each have a link that carries your name. When someone new joins Vakh after opening one of those links, you earn points. You earn more as they keep using Vakh: coming back, posting, following forms, connecting with people, and giving Hearts. Sharing someone else's form or post credits its owner, not the person sharing. Signing yourself up does not count.

02

You post regularly

Publishing a post earns a point for that day, on your own form or someone else's. One post or ten, it is one point per day in India time, so steady posting counts for more than bursts. These points do not depend on anyone joining through your links.

03

People respond to what you post

When more people come back to what you post, respond to it, or give it Hearts, you earn extra points at milestones. Milestones count distinct people, so one person repeating an action does not keep adding points.

How the pool is shared

Your share of the points is your share of the pool.

Each month has a pool. Your share of the pool is your share of all participants' points that month. For example, if participants earned 1,000 points in a month and 50 of them are yours, you get 5% of that month's pool.

Points are only used to work out shares. They are not a wallet balance, cash value, or automatic payout.

When you get paid

Points settle first, then shares are worked out.

Points can take up to two weeks to settle, because we watch each new signup for their first 14 days. Recent points can still change during that time.

We work out each month's shares after the 15th of the following month, and only for participants who joined before that calculation. Payouts are manual.

The conditions

The rules the pilot runs on.

Not a contestThe scheme is not a contest, lottery, game, or prize draw. It is a performance-linked incentive: your share is worked out from your points, with no element of chance, and you never pay anything to take part.
EligibilityParticipation is limited to Indian residents aged 18 or older. You need an Indian bank account and the required payout documents to be paid, and payments are subject to applicable TDS.
Earlier activity countsPoints from before you joined the pilot still count, as long as you join before the payout for that month is calculated.
TimingPoints can take a few days to settle. Each month's shares are worked out after the 15th of the following month, and only for participants who joined before that calculation.
Minimum payoutTo keep administration manageable, a payout must be at least 1% of that month's pool to be processed. Smaller payouts are not issued.
An evolving pilotPool size, eligibility, points, timing, and other conditions may change as we learn. The scheme is not a guarantee, offer, or agreement.

See the data

Follow the current and previous months.

We publish the points as the pilot runs. On the dashboard, points are called Activity Outcomes. It shows an all-users report and participant reports for the current and previous calendar months.

Why we are trying this

Spend on the people who make Vakh useful, not only on ads.

Like any growing platform, Vakh can spend money on ads, clicks, and installs. We want to test whether some of that money can instead go to the people who bring others in, post useful things, and keep the network current.

India's PLI schemes gave us the inspiration: link the incentive to outcomes that matter. This is Vakh's small experiment with the same idea.

Joining the pilot

Join Vakh, start contributing, request the badge.

Anyone eligible can join Vakh, start using it, and request the Pilots badge from the app today. Requests are verified for presence in India and approved manually while the pilot is small.

Your earlier activity is not lost: points from before you joined the pilot still count, as long as you join before the payout for that month is calculated.

Requesting the badge means you accept the conditions above. If you have questions first, we would like to hear from you.
